Last night I discovered something flipping amazing. You won't believe me, but I'm telling the truth incredibly. I was watching a film. It was Titanic with Kate Winslet and Leonardo Di Caprio. The film was near the start when my phone rang, so I tried to pause the film with the remote but the remote had no power. I got up and went over to the DVD player to manually pause, but I tripped on the rug between the TV and sofa and fell head first towards the TV. As I fell I put my hands in front of me to stop my head hitting the screen, but as my hands were about to make contact with the screen they didn't. They went through the screen and because of this they couldn't stop my head going through the screen too, followed by my whole body. 'Are you okay?' was the next thing I heard, as I lay on a wooden floor. The wooden floor was the deck of a ship and the person asking was none other than Kate Winslet. 'Yes, I'm fine' I replied, 'but a little confused as to what just happened'. 'I didn't see how it happened, but I heard you fall and turned around and saw you there' said Kate. After I got up and dusted myself down I decided to tell Kate I was an admirer of her work in the film industry only to be asked by her what I was talking about. 'I think you're delirious because of your fall' Kate suggested. 'My name is Rose and I am not in films'. 'Are you pulling my leg Kate?' I asked her. She looked at my seriously and said 'Not at all. And you're confusing me with someone else if you think my name is Kate'. I looked around and it didn't look like a film set. There were no cameras and crew around and everyone, as far as you could see were in period clothing. 'What year is this?' I asked hesitantly. 'What a funny question' came the reply. 'Matches your clothing too' she added. 'It's 1912, isn't it?' I asked. 'Of course it is' said Kate, or Rose, if that is who I was talking with. 'Well f*** me!' I exclaimed. 'Language!' Said Rose, 'next you'll be spitting in front of me'. I apologised to her for my foul language and explain why I used such colourful language. 'I'm from the future. I don't know how I got here, but if you want my advice you'll get off the Titanic when it stops at Ireland because I know what happens to this ship'. 'What happens?' Rose asks. 'It sinks and many people die' I tell her. Rose is a little taken aback by my revelation, even though I can tell she isn't sure whether to be believe I know. Maybe this is because young ladies were more delicate back then and less likely to tell you you're talking b*******. Rose tells me she doesn't know whether what I'm saying is connected with my fall or not, but my strange clothing does make her think I could be from the future, even though it is hard to believe that time travel is possible.
We're then interrupted by Roses's mother, who sees Rose and comes over. 'Oh there you are Rose?' She says. 'I've been looking for you everywhere'. 'I needed some fresh air so thought I'd come out on deck' Rose tells her mother. 'Who is this you are talking to?' Her mother asks. 'Oh I don't even know your name' Rose says to me. I tell her my name and Rose continues 'Henry had a fall and I was seeing he was alright mother'. 'Is he?' Her mother enquires. 'I'm not sure' Rose tells her mother. 'He's coming out with some strange things'. 'Well there's a doctor on board who is better qualified than you for finding this out' her mother says. 'We've got things that need doing, so you must come with me' her mother tells her. And she takes Rose with her.
I spend the next couple of hours thinking whether to try and tell the captain that he needs to be aware that if he doesn't take more care he's going to sink the Titanic, but then I remember that the two time travellers from that 60s series 'The time tunnel' were in the same position but the captain didn't believe them, so why would he believe me. The last thing I would want is to be sedated or detained because they think I'm crazy or because they mistake me for a stowaway for not having a ticket. Then I'll not be able to get off at Ireland and be on a sinking ship in a few days. I decide just to say nothing and disembark at Ireland. It's a good job I wasn't further into the film when all this happened!
We arrive at the Irish stop and I join the queue of the lucky few who disembarked at Ireland. When I'm about to walk down the gang plank or whatever it's called, I hear someone call out 'Henry'. I look around and it is Rose. She comes over to me and says she has been thinking about what I said and has decided to leave the ship too, just I case I am not crazy and what I say is true. I tell her she doesn't need to really because she survives anyway. 'How do you know this?' She asks. 'Well a film is made about you' I tell her. 'Really?' She asks. 'Yes' I reply. 'Well that confirms it then' she says. 'You really are crazy' she laughs. So Rose decides not to disembark with me and we say our goodbyes and I go.
The next day I wake up and I'm in my own bed at home. I told you it was incredible, didn't I?
